Let me be clear

I couldn’t be “more proud,” the young mom had posted,

But “prouder” is preferred (and correct).

When you add “more” before proud,

And OH LORD you say it aloud,

Don’t be surprised at all when you’re ghosted.

They’d travelled “further” than ever, the girl just said,

Or was it that they travelled so far?

Farthest or nearest,

I’ll educate you, my dearest,

That they can’t travel fur in a car.

“Let me be clear,” the politician rehearsed,

Perhaps he should’ve been so up front.

Let your purpose be stated,

Then we’ll be less agitated,

“Let me be clear” is maybe the worst.

The point is mute, but I can still hear you,

Because that’s not the right term!

It’s moot like boot,

Hey, don’t call me a snoot,

I bet you also think a bridge is a berm!

What a snobby little poem I wrote today,

I want to feel more proud of my ‘tude,

But it have to be clear,

Furthest is not far from near,

Being smart sometimes sounds a bit rude.
